Who is in charge here?

Crippen & Landru is primarily a small business operation. Doug Greene does the editorial work, handles the typesetting, and finds the cover designers. Doug is the author of the Edgar–nominated biography, John Dickson Carr: The Man Who Explained Miracles, and the editor of several anthologies of short stories, most recently, Detection by Gaslight (Dover, 1997) and The Detections of Miss Cusack (Battered Silicon Dispatch Box, 1998) with Jack Adrian, and R. Austin Freeman's The Dead Hand and Other Uncollected Stories, with Tony Medawar (Battered Silicon Dispatch Box), 1999. To order these last three books, contact George Vanderburgh at

Jeffrey Marks, award winning author of biographies of Craig Rice and Anthony Boucher, now joins C&L as Director of Development and Webmaster.

With Sandi Greene taking care of our grandson (ask us about him!) and Eric Greene working for a web company, Scott O. Moore has joined the staff as our Editorial Associate.

Crippen & Landru also has an Advisory Board made up of some of the most knowledgeable people in the field: Jack Adrian, Victor Berch, Allen J. Hubin, Marvin Lachman, Roland Lacourbe, Tony Medawar, Barry Pike, Bill Pronzini, B. J. Rahn, and Bill Ruehlmann. They recommend books, locate material, and provide wisdom.
